**Peter Pan ** Stuart Morrison productions, an Lanntair 2027 9 -11 year olds 1.30 - 2.30pm 12+ 2.30 - 3.30pmpm The Audition Audition will consist of a warm up, short dance class and an opportunity to learn a short routine which will be performed for our assessors in groups. We may also ask to see some other dance / performance skills. We will be looking for performance skills and enthusiasm as well as dance skills & ability to pick up choreography. There is no need to prepare in advance. Although dance experience will help it is not essential and we will still consider all auditionees, who will be marked using a scoring system on the following criteria: - Ability to pick up choreographhy - Dance technique - Performance skills The following information about the show is unconfirmed but should give you an idea of what to expect based on previous shows. I wanted to give you as much as possible so that there are no surprises later and so that no one comes to the audition not knowing what to expect if accepted. If upon reading this you feel it is too much commitment / cost please feel free to withdraw from the audition - just let us know. It is imperative that all dancers are able to commit to the rehearsal schedule, the show dates and the key dates below. Show dates The show will run 20 - 23 jan 2026 at an Lanntair. There will be 2 teams of dancers made up of Juniors and Seniors who will perform on different nights. This will involve some time off school and on successfully gaining a part you will be sent info to pass on to the school. Tech Rehearsal & Costumes The week of the show there will be a dress & tech rehearsal with full cast - this generally goes on quite late and will involvea long day for dancers, possibly finishing as late as 8.30pm (Monday & Tues 18th and 19th Jan) - attendance compulsory. On the Saturday before the show there is usually a costume fitting and rehearsal with professional dancers. 16th Jan - attendance compulsory Rehearsals Our rehearsal dates are not fully confirmed yet, but we are most likely to begin rehearsing from November, on Saturday afternoons from 1.30pm. There may also be some additional Friday rehearsals at 5.15pm for certain cast members who have lines. If we receive the music and choreography information earlier, we would love to get started sooner, but this will depend on the progress made at the show down south. We will confirm the full rehearsal schedule as soon as possible but it will be in the region of 35 hours for most dancers. Please be aware that the Saturday rehearsals will be essential, so let us know now if you know you will be unable to attend. Where casting decisions need to be made, priority will be given to dancers who are able to commit to all of the scheduled rehearsals. We may also run a full day rehearsal during the Christmas holidays. ATTENDANCE AT REHEARSALS IS COMPULSORY. NON-ATTENDANCE MAY LEAD TO DANCER NOT BEING ABLE TO PERFORM. Costs There is a £40 participation fee for each successful dancer, which covers tutors and approximately 35 hours of rehearsal space. Your £40 includes: All scheduled rehearsals Use of costumes for the show One ticket to the show (a specific collection day/time will be allocated) There is no cost to audition. There may be some additional costs for dancers, including dance shoes and basic items such as tights and leotards to wear underneath costumes. All dancers will need jazz shoes for rehearsals and for the show. Please don't wait until show week to buy these — you will need them from the beginning of rehearsals. We have a selection of second-hand jazz shoes available to purchase through the studio, if you prefer this option. If purchasing any of these items is difficult, please let us know. We have some items that may be available to lend to successful dancers.
